5 on Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!!  This weekend is sure to be a good one.  I am linking up today with the fabulous host of the Five on Friday!!

Five on Friday

1)  Kid Clammy turns the big 3 this weekend.  I can't believe how fast the time has gone.  To celebrate his birthday we are heading to LegoLand.  It is the first time for all of us.  We have some family and friends joining us so we are sure to have a great time.

2) Its a 3 day weekend!! I sure can't complain about that!!  I am also enjoying this CD very much - just wish it wasn't to hot to "roll the windows down and cruise"
 

 

3) Bragging about my hubby.  He is pretty amazing!! He has been selected by the ASA to build their 2014 raffle car.  This is a pretty big deal around these parts!!!

4) I am very thankful that for the last 4 months I have been able to take Sissy to work with me!! She has made each day so much happier at work.  While tomorrow is her last day coming with me since she is getting too mobile - I am thankful for the time that she was able to come!!

5) It a weekend to remember those who risk their lives to serve and protect our county.  A big shout out to all Military

Personnel and their families.  Thank you for your service and sacrifice to keep us safe.

On the train to crazy town...

I have been trying to write a post for a few days now.  I have started numerous...some I never finished, some I thought I will save that for another day, some I did not like, some I can't remember what the point was supposed to be, I can't focus.  My brain just won't quit.  It has already taken me 20 minutes just to write this because I am so distracted.  My thoughts are all over the place probably much like this post!!  I feel like my next stop is crazy town!  I have having some of the most random and sometimes worst thinking thoughts possibly.  For instance when I saw that the 3 higher ups were all talking late after work the other day my mind went straight for..."I must be losing my job".  What the heck is wrong with me? Hopefully I can get focused soon and get off the crazy town train.

These are more fun childhood questions!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?   

I miss being irresponsible.  I remember growing up and adults telling me enjoy it now before bills and what not kick in.  Enjoy your childhood.  It is so true!! I wanted nothing more to be a grown up and now that I am there are days where I think "Can I have my childhood back?"

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

Did and still do.  My "Tia" calls me Punky, my friends call me "B" or "BB", my kids call me "Momma" and my hubby calls me "Babe"

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

I would have to say hang with the girls and talk about boys.  

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

First a doctor - then I realized I couldn't tell people that one of their family members had passed away or something along those lines.  Then a veterinarian but that idea passes quickly.  I finally settled on a teacher.  And while I do not teach right now I do have my credentials to be able to teach. 

5. Did you participate in any school activities?

In high school I was a cheerleader.  While it was a ton of fun - I did not enjoy the politics that went with it. 

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

The time I asked for green mashed potatoes and hot dogs for dinner.  This is because it was something that my dad was totally grossed out by!!

Having a Jessie Spano Moment

Good morning everyone!  Happy Friday!  So I know I am 100% dating myself here by talking about Saved By The Bell but hey it was a fav amongst many back in the day!  So raise your hand if you know the episode I am talking about...the one where Jessie gets hooked on caffeine pills. Her, Kelly, and Lisa are supposed to be singing for something and she just can't keep up with school, rehearsals etc. So to stay awake she starts taking caffeine pills. Well pretty soon she is busted my our main man Zack. In the process of her freak out she starts yelling "THERE'S NO TIME

THERE'S NEVER ANY TIME!!"  Do you know what scene I am talking about yet?  Well more than once this week I have found myself wanting to scream that EXACT same thing!!  I even told the hubs the other day - I am having a Jessie Spano Moment!!  I know I am not the only one who feels this way but this week it has been more so than ever!!

Has anyone seen my brain?

Holy Moses!  I think my brain has gone missing!!   I just can't seem to get it together!  I keep telling myself that Kid Clammy got the first half of my brain and Sissy got the second half of my brain!  So I guess that explains it!  My brain is gone forever. The hope is that with what my kiddos from me will at least make them somewhat smart!

Back to Cali

What a weekend!  The hubs and I snuck away for an adult weekend in none other than Las Vegas. It was my first time leaving Sissy but she survived the weekend and so did I.  I missed the kiddos tremendously but the weekend away was much needed and a great way for hubby and I to be a couple again. We went with 3 other couples which was perfect. At points we did our own thing and other times we met up with one or two and sometimes we were all together. There were cocktails, a little gambling,  some pool time, tons of laughs and great memories to add to the books!!

In all my trips to Vegas I had yet to take a picture by the Vegas sign.  Checked that one off the bucket list!!

Happy Friday!!!

Oh wait that’s right it’s not the typical Friday!  What thought that I posted a day early?  Am I sound a little "cray cray" as the hip kids would day?  Wel here's the things...today however is my Friday!!! I am off work tomorrow and to top it off the hubs and I are leaving for Vegas tonight.  Oh yeah VEGAS BABY!! To say that I am excited is a bit of an understatement.  However with that excitement comes guilt.  I am leaving Sissy overnight and for more than one night for the first time since she was born.  I am really sad about this but I know that she will be left in great hands.  A big thank you to my parents for watching both kiddos!!   However I just keep telling myself that “happy couples make better parents”  and the hugs and I can really use this trip away!!  It is long overdue and we have some reconnecting to do!  So Happy Friday – I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!!

A Birthday

Yesterday was a very special day!  It was my Momma's birthday!!  She is a very special woman!!  She loves with all her heart is so creative and takes great care of all of us!  She is a wonderful woman and deserves nothing but the best!!  Happy Birthday Mom!  We love you from the tops of our heads to the tips of our toes!!!

Epic Weekend

Oh my oh my. Monday morning you are not my friend today. What a great weekend from a birthday celebration to a wedding to an awesome concert!!  It was one for the record books!!  So as I sit here needing to get some work done but suffering from the "holy hell I am tired hang over" here. This hang over I think is worse than one from drinking too much. No amount of greasy food and or barfing. can heal today's hangovers. The only cure SLEEP. Lots and lots of sleep. However when you have a job and two kiddos additional sleep is near impossible. So while I am trying to stay awake and function today here's some pics to enjoy!!.

I would work for...

The lovely Erin @ Living in Yellow is having a fun link up today.  And what a better link up than a funny one about what you would work for instead of money.  Now while I love me some money – there are definitely some things that I would work for….

 

Starbucks delivery – Oh I know they have drive thru’s now but let me be real by saying if I didn’t have to get them myself I would be all over that like white on rice.

Speaking of Rice - Chinese Food Delivery – I see this in the movies – and really wish there was one close to home.  I am all for not having to cook dinner after working so if it is yummy and gets delivered all the more better!!

And while on the subject of not cooking – can I get us a personal chef somewhere?   I would so work for someone else to cook my meals / grocery shop etc. just so I don’t have too!

 

A good pedicure - every stinking time I try to cut my toenails I make them bleed and when I paint them – oh boy I swear there is more on my skin than on my nails.  I should probably have Kid Clammy paint them for me!!

 

Jamba Juice Drive Thru and or Delivery  – I love a good Jamba but sometimes with kiddos it’s hard to get out of the car etc.  If they delivered or have a drive thru all the better for me!!

So excited that I have managed two weeks in a row!! Can I get a whoot whoot!!

1. What are 3 items you can't live without on a daily basis (water, food, shelter, and clothes don't count)?

I can't live without my Iphone (although it would be an interesting challenge to go an entire weekend without it).  I also can't live without Starbucks or Jamba Juice for breakfast - which is a really bad habit I need to break.  Also my car charger for the cell phone.

2. What is your all time favorite book? Why?

I have read so many great books, Tuesdays with Morrie, anything by Karen Kingsbury, but I think on of my all time favorites would have been the Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. **Let me be honest - I love anything by Nicholas Sparks!!

3. What is something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2013?

I would love, love, love to be in a house of our own.  We will see what happens though!

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?

If I could relive a whole entire year which would it be?  There are so many great choices - I think I would chose between 3 - the year we got married, the year I was prego with Kid Clammy and the year I was prego with Sissy.

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?

This is a tough one.  While I don't think I hide too much there are some things that people don't understand about me - mainly my hubby.  I wish people could see my silence in certain situations as shy and not stand-off-ish / unapproachable.

Spreading the word

I had been toying with the idea of starting a blog for quite some time.  I have been reading and follow quite a few for awhile.  Then one day I thought "I am going to do it" (circa April 2012).  So I did.  However I didn't actually hit the "publish" button on that first post until June 2012.  Then baby numero dos decided to start growing inside of me so a hiatus began.  I know what you are thinking a hiatus after only a few short months month.  Yes that's correct.  While I can blame life being busy and being crazy sick during pregnancy that wouldn't be the whole truth.  A good portion of the truth would be - I had no idea what I was going to talk about, what pictures I would use etc.  Oh wait I still don't.  I wasn't and still not sure about posting pictures of the kiddos and giving their real names.  I remember mentioning to my hubby and sister about it and telling them I think it would be a good outlet for me to diary our lives and feelings and a way to let go.  Funny thing is those are still the only two people in my life who know about said blog.  How do you tell your friends and family that you blog?  For someone like me who cares way too much about what other people think (especially those closet to me) I haven't told but two people that I started a blog. Heck I don't even feel that I can consider myself a blogger yet. Hopefully one day I will. But to say the words you should read my blog. Yikes that's a scary thought.  How do I get passed the fear of sharing my blog and how do I know its even worth sharing?
