Wine and Canvas

So last night I attended a Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk fundraiser that a few of my friends were hosting. It was called Wine and Canvas. I went in with an open mind because I am an artist in training not super crafty, the only drawing I do is stick figures and even those are terrible so painting is non existent. I so did not get the talent from my mom!  Let me tell you though about my experience.
You start with a blank canvas like this
some paints and an instructor. Oh let's not forget the wine and friends. There is a finished canvas at the front and all of us at the table were looking at it going "yeah that is so going to NOT happen".  So the instructor starts teaching how to do the sunset first all the while talking about loose wrists, knife edge and some other stuff that we of course resorted back to our 6th grade mature selves and did not laugh giggle or comment at all.
Please excuse the runs. He was talking about adding water to the paint and apparently I was over zealous!!  Luckily for me it was covered up by the painting of the actual blue water. Guess that's why you start with the light color first. It was funny because for someone like me who is not visual I kept looking at it thinking this looks awful.

Here I am adding the water. Although by now everyone was painting there sun. Oops got a little behind but I made up for it.

Now working on the palm trees or disco sticks as I first called them.

Painting palate!

Working on the trees!!

The finished product!!

I was actually impressed with myself for how the whole thing turned out.  The trees made all the difference. All in all it was a fun night with great friends.  Check out and see if you have one of these in your area - it was a lot of fun!!

Until next time...

Weekend Recap

Hello there! Happy Monday (if there is such a thing!!). Just a little weekend recap for you. Friday night the hubby and I had a date night after I got my hair did! (I totally should have taken a picture with all those foils in my hair). Saturday the hubs, kiddos and our nephew went to an off road expo, trying to scope out possibly a booth for next year. We rushed home (we were about 2 hours away) so I could pick up some fine looking ladies and we headed off to the Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 concert!  What a great show!! I have to say that Kelly ROCKED it!! She was awesome.  Maroon 5 - not so much.  Adam was rather disappointing - he didn't sound great (just ok) and he was not very personable.  Just played and was done pretty much!  But overall it was a good show and we had a great time!!
Sunday the hubs had to work so the kiddos and I put our season passes to Sea World to work headed out for a few hours of fun. They do a trick or treat on the weekend so Kid Clammy got to practice his mad skills! We had a great time.  All in all it was a jammed packed weekend - but fun none the less!! Hope yours was great too!!

Weekend Recap

The kids and I and the hubby for parts of it had a fun filled three days this past weekend. Yep that's right three days. My parents were hosting a Super Tour. This is a tour where a bunch of people with old cars and trucks get together once a year and cruise through places. Last year they went to Yellowstone. One year they traveled all the way to Tennessee. So this year my mom decided to be the host the Super Tour here in our home town of San Diego. They had people travel from Arizona, Northern California, and Oklahoma to San Diego to partake in the fun. She planned a weeks worth of activities such as the Old Town Trolley Tour, Campo Train Museum, Midway Museum to name a few. They took Kid Clammy on a few during the week and then Sissy and I joined them on Friday.  Our Friday consisted of a trip to Bates Nut Farm, the Palomar Mountain Observatory, Dudley's Bakery, Julian and then dinner at a house in Julian. Saturday we all joined in and headed to the farewell Beach party.  Sunday all the folks from the Super Tour traveled back home and so we had a low key day around the house and a late birthday dinner for me.  It was a fun time. I did manage to take a few pictures even if they were only on my phone.

Fall Bucket List

Good Morning Friends!  Happy October!! Wow I can't believe I just said that!! I am in complete and utter shock and denial that it is October already!!  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year so I thought a fall bucket list was appropriate!!  Here are some things I really want to do this fall!!

  • Go to the Pumpkin Patch
  • Use our 2nd day free at Lego Land
  • Take Kid Clammy to Disneyland for the Halloween time
  • Family day at SeaWorld for Halloween festivities
  • Picnic in the park
  • Date Night with Hubby for our Anniversary (already started this one in the works yesterday)
  • Have the kids pictures taken in their costumes
  • Enjoy the sites and changing season around me - (meaning take more notice of the leaves falling, changing color etc.)
  • Go on more walks with the kids to enjoy above mentioned sites
What's on your bucket list for Fall?
