July 31st: Blogging is Hard - We're all done! Now celebrate by telling us why blogging can be so hard sometimes!

Wow I can't believe that I made it thru the blog everyday in July challenge!  I managed to do all but 2 posts I think.  That is a monthly record for me right there!  A big thank you to the ladies for coming up with the great idea and the topics!
So why is blogging hard?  
Well we are going list mode again...
*Getting followers (You hope and wish that they will just magically appear, especially when you are following some awesome bloggers who have tons of followers but they don't just come.  I am learning it takes time - like ALOT of time! Not to mention you are secretly hoping that those awesome bloggers will one day follow you back!)
*Thinking of blog topics (my brain is only creative on Tuesday's and Thursday's so trying to think of other topics - well its like no existent!  I am only somewhat kidding)
*Worrying about what others are thinking ( I know this is silly but they idea that I may offend people or scare them away bothers me a little bit)
*Blogging regularly (This is hard for me.  Working full time, having a hubby, two kids, a house, this space (and my workouts) are the first things that go by the wayside!)
*Reading other blogs - (I love to read other blogs and comment when the time permits but sometimes its all I can do to get a post up and running for the day.)
*Staying true to yourself - (this kind of goes with the whole worrying about what others think - you still have to be true to who you are).
*Always including pictures and or gifs - (I am still learning how the whole gif thing works and sometimes or all the time I don't have time to edit my pictures (I know bad blogger) or my pics are on my phone.)
*Understanding the terminology - (meaning HTML, URL, codes etc...all that good stuff - heck I made a blog button but can't figure out how to get the code in the box)
Happy Last Day of July! I can't believe tomorrow is already August!

July 29th: All About You - Tell us 5 things you love about yourself


This is such a strange topic for me.  Like most people I am my own worst enemy.  I have a really hard time finding things about myself that I like!

1) I am a good friend.  I do my best to lend an ear and or shoulder when needed, help out when I can - all that stuff that constitutes being  good friend.

2) I am a good mom.  I love me kiddos, I would do anything for them and the fact that I have kept them alive this long...I would say I got this in the bag!!

3) I am a hard worker (most of the time).  I pride myself on getting work done, doing a good job, being reliable and a good employee.

4) I am freaking hilarious! I am sure my hubby would disagree with me on this one - he only thinks I am funny some of the time - but I find myself to be a bit of a comedian really!  I am a smart-ass 99% of the time and I am so funny its funny!  LOL!

5) I have good hair!! When I actually style it, curl it etc - it looks pretty good!

So I totally blew it yesterday with the Photo and Hour post!! Oops!! #bloggerfail!!  I do hope to one day do a post like that - but I have to remember fisrt!

 

Today we were supposed to interview someone so I figured why not my hubby while we were running errands! Two birds - one stone!

An Ode to the 80's

July 24th: Throwback Thursday - Breakout the baby pictures and start looking up how much a gallon of gas used to cost. We want to know what the world was like the year you were born.


I am a little late to the party today - but better late than never!!


Oh the 80's! 1980 was a great year!  Why you ask - because I was born!! September 26th to be even more specific! (don't forget to mark your calendars to send gifts - ha!) Not only was 1980 a fantastic year but the 80's were a awesome decade.  From side pony tails, crimped hair, some rocking music - you know all that awesome, tubular, bitchen stuff (or maybe you don't!).

Some fun facts about 1980 specifically...

*Gas price average was $1.25 
 *Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was released and was the highest grossing movie of the year. 
*The first 24 hour news channel Cable News Network (CNN) is launched
*The album Back in Black is released by the Australian band AC/DC.
*Ryan Gosling was born this year

What was even better about that year is December 5th.  This is a very special day - kind of like a second birthday for my parents and I.  See here's the deal...way back when a guy and a girl got together and the girl got pregnant.  She was young, too young to be able to care for a baby so she moved to San Diego while pregnant and decided to put this baby up for adoption when she was born.  While waiting for the perfect parents this little baby spent 10 weeks in with a wonderful woman who fostered lots and lots of kiddos over the years.  Pretty soon an amazing couple got a call..."We have a baby".  They had no idea if this baby was a boy, a girl, a toddler, an infant nothing.  They went to meet this baby  a 10 week old baby girl.  They met her and fell in instant love but were told to "go home and think about it".  SAY WHAT?!?!?  They took that as a - we need to go buy all things baby girl NOW!
They kept the baby girl a secret for the time being.
The next day they went back and picked up precious baby girl and now it was time to share the great news!  The next stop the grandparents house.  They just show up holding a little baby girl.
She was welcomed to the family with open arms (expect for mom was afraid to hold her first) and baby girl loved them back!  She was a very lucky little baby!

We are a very lucky family to be together!! I don't know where I would be with out these two amazing parents!  Not to mentioned the strength and courage my birth mom had to know that adoption would provide a better life for me!!

Things That Make Me Go 'Hmm"

July 22nd: Things That Make You Go 'Hmm" - Ever think about something and just wonder why it is the way it is? Share your 'hmm' moments with us. .


1) Why do people put Kleenex boxes in their back windows?

2) Why people run red lights.  I know sometimes it is too hard to stop or you are going to fast when the light turns yellow but there are plenty of times where the light turns red and at least two cars still go through.

3) Why people feel the need to tell me their life story when they call my work.  I really don't need to know this or that - I just need to know what you are calling for.

4) Why am I so attached to my stupid phone???

5) Why families are so dysfunctional at times (at least mine anyway).

6) Why people get all crazy go in someplace and just start shooting people for no reason!

7) What happened to the flight from Malaysia a few months ago.

8) Why cox cable is such a pain in my arse!

9)  What possesses people to name their kids weird names like "Apple" and "Welcome"

10) Why I can't think of more things that make me go Hmmmm?

  I am still very new to the whole "GIF" thing - so hopefully what I have here won't dissapoint.

Where I come from...

I am a born and raised San Diegan!  I was born here, I lived in the same house until my hubby and I got married, then we had to live there for two years a while back.

San Diego really is the greatest city!!

2. We are a beach (and a mountain) town.

Dear Cell Phone

July 15th: Write a Letter to an Inanimate Object - Tell Chick Fila how much you love it, or tell your iPhone how you couldn't make it without it. The funnier, the better.

My Dearest iPhone,
I really have a love hate relationship with myself about you and with you.  I love you so much yet get so mad at myself because of you! You give me the ability to talk to anyone just about anywhere any time I want.  On those often occasions when I don't feel like talking I can send a quick typed text message.  Best idea ever!  You also allow me to play games, peruse Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and search the internet.  Heck I can even read books, get directions - or lost whichever you prefer at the time.  You have the best ability to get me to waste tons of time doing nothing really!  iPhone you are so great, grand and wonderful, yet cause some serious drama sometimes.  My kids want to play with you, my hubby gets mad at you (maybe me for using you too much), my pocket book hates you because your data plan can cost an arm and a leg.  Your text message's can be misconstrued that I am mad or upset when really the smart ass tone just didn't come across right!  But all in all you are what the red solo cup song says - you are more than just a phone you are my friend!

Finish the Sentence

When I open the fridge, I always hope I find...something to eat.  There I times when I don't make it to the grocery store so I am hoping I can at least scrounge something up for dinner. 

My favorite article of clothing is...I just had to throw away my favorite pair of shorts - so for now its my flip flops or wedding ring - wait is that considered clothing?  Well it is now!

Last week I was really pissed when...the jackass on the freeway was only doing 45.  45 (I wish you could hear me yelling this).  I mean come on 20 miles under the speed limit - get the h - e double hockey sticks off the freaking road!!

One thing nobody understands about me is...my emotions.  

One thing I don't understand is...my emotions.  I am always asking myself why I don't stand up for myself or "why did I do that".  Half the time I don't understand why I am crying - etc.  

The world would be a better place if...people did what they said and stuck to their word.  

If I had a million dollars I'd...buy a slightly bigger house, pay some bills for my parents, take a vacation and save for retirement.  

If I could change one thing about myself, it would be...my confidence and self worth.  It is usually non existent and I think it would be so helpful if I had some at all.  

Something that can always make me happy is...my kids - they can make the worst day so much better!

Something I'll never blog about is...my sex life.  

If I could go anywhere I would go... because...there are so many possibilities and it is too hard to choose.  But if I could go anywhere I would visit Australia because it is on my bucket list.  It seems like an amazing place to travel to I would love to see what its all about.  

If I were an animal I would be a.... dog - I can be someone's best friend, there's no drama, and you practically live like a human (at least in the right house)

A job I've always wanted is..a teacher.  

My idea of a perfect day is...spending time hanging with the family.  

That one thing

July 13th: One Thing You Cannot Live Without - Anything goes, well anything except a person or an animal. It has to be a thing.


So the ladies made this one hard for me because of  course it would have been easy to say I couldn't live without my family (hubby and kids) they are actually people so that idea is out!  This is hard because everything that comes to mind I then think - yeah I really could do it without that or I should do without that more often - like my cell phone for instance!

So if I have to pick and actual "thing" that I couldn't live without it would be a razor.  I can only handle hairy legs for so long and hairy armpits are just not an option!!
